Church Library
Mission Statement
The mission of the St. Nicholas Church Library is to encourage, support, and enrich the spiritual and intellectual growth of our parishioners by providing educational and inspirational books, DVDs, and CDs that are consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
The library contains a broad variety of spiritual books that are designed to bring us closer to God. Included are works on Sacred Scripture, lives of the saints, and a broad variety of devotional works. The library, also, has non-fiction books on physical sciences, Ukrainian language books and works by J.R.R. Tolkein, C.S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton. Good spiritual reading is a wonderful aid in strengthening our faith.
Come “check out” our selection of books, videos and DVD’s for spiritual enrichment.
The St. John of Damascus Parish Library is located in the lower level of the Church.
• The Parish Library is available to parishioners to relax, read or check out a book, video or great movie.
• The Library is open every Sunday following the Divine Liturgy.
• The library is run on a self-service system – card catalogues and color coded topics are indicated on the spine of books and videos.
• Library participants may provide written “reviews” of books and/or movies that can be posted on the parish website.
• Monetary donations to improve and enhance our area would be greatly appreciated.
